Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Remote Head Chef to oversee the culinary operations of their expanding network of ghost kitchens. This is a unique, fully remote opportunity for a culinary leader passionate about efficiency, quality, and innovation in food delivery. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in high-volume kitchen management, menu development, and quality control, with a strong understanding of digital ordering platforms and delivery logistics. You will be responsible for creating and refining exciting menus tailored for delivery, establishing stringent food safety and hygiene standards, managing inventory, optimizing kitchen workflows for maximum efficiency, and training remote kitchen staff. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail in food presentation and consistency, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, digitally driven environment. You will collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure a seamless customer experience from order placement to final delivery.

- Developing, testing, and refining innovative and appealing menus specifically designed for delivery, considering ingredient sourcing, cost-effectiveness, and portability.
- Establishing and enforcing rigorous food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols across all ghost kitchen operations, adhering to local regulations.
- Overseeing inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stock rotation, and minimizing waste.
- Developing and optimizing kitchen workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency, speed, and consistency in food preparation and packaging.
- Training and supervising remote kitchen staff (where applicable), ensuring adherence to recipes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Monitoring food quality and presentation consistency for every order.
- Collaborating with the operations and marketing teams to align menu offerings with customer demand and promotional activities.
- Managing food costs and labor costs to achieve profitability targets.
- Troubleshooting operational issues and implementing solutions promptly.
- Staying updated on culinary trends, delivery platform requirements, and best practices in the ghost kitchen industry.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in professional kitchens, with at least 3 years in a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or Kitchen Manager role, preferably with experience in multi-unit or delivery-focused operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in menu development, costing, and execution.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Proven ability to optimize kitchen operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Experience with inventory management systems and software.
- Proficiency in digital ordering and delivery platforms is a plus.
