About the Role

Our client, a leading producer of high-quality consumer goods, is looking for a motivated Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer to join their team. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for analyzing production processes, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and implementing solutions to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate product quality. This is a hands-on, on-site position based in Kericho, Kericho, KE . The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in implementing successful process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize production workflows.
  • Develop and execute projects aimed at reducing production costs and lead times.
  • Collaborate with production teams, quality assurance, and maintenance to implement process changes.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality defects and production issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards in all manufacturing activities.
  • Train production staff on new processes and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (certification a plus), or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in process mapping, data analysis, and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with shop-floor personnel and management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Kericho, Kericho, KE .
  • Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) is desirable.
