Job Description

This role involves providing paralegal, compliance, and general corporate support to commercial lawyers and business teams for the NBA's and its affiliate leagues' business operations in Africa and the BAL's business globally.

This includes fan engagement, grassroots programs, basketball operations, services provider agreements, media deals, sponsorships, and merchandising. Work will include drafting, assisting in due diligence processes, research, and other projects, as needed and at the direction of commercial lawyers.

The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and will work together with NBA and BAL legal staff across various African offices.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and actionable paralegal and business affairs support for regional lawyers and business teams.
  • Draft and review contracts for the NBA and BAL's businesses, in particular for fan events, grassroots programs, basketball operations, service providers, and certain revenue deals.
  • Coordinate and implement due diligence process for prospective business partners and service providers.
  • Attend to general corporate and administrative legal matters.

Required Skills/Knowledge
