Purpose: br>The German Lions Foundation (SDL), in partnership with Africa Inland Church Health Ministries (AICHM), invites qualified consultants to conduct a feasibility study for the proposed project: “Vision for the Future: Preventing and Treating Childhood Eye Disorders in Kenya.” The study will assess the feasibility, sustainability, and scalability of strengthening Nairobi’s healthcare system to deliver inclusive, quality child eye care in informal settlements.

Scope of Work:
Multi-level analysis (policy, system, community) of child eye care gaps.
Assessment of service delivery, workforce, referral systems, and inclusion practices.
Stakeholder engagement (government, NGOs, OPDs, communities).
Recommendations based on OECD/DAC criteria (relevance, impact, sustainability, etc.).
Eligibility Criteria:
Master’s degree in public health, ophthalmology or related field. < r> P oven experience in eye health, disability inclusion or child health in low-resource settings.
Knowledge of Nairobi’s health system, particularly informal settlements. < r> S rong qualitative/quantitative research and participatory facilitation skills.
Fluency in English and Kiswahili; safeguarding compliance required.

Financial proposal with detailed budget (incl. taxes)
Confirmation of availability for full consultancy period

The consultant is expected to submit a technical and financial proposal including
a description of the consultancy firm,
CV of suggested team members,
an outline of the understanding of these TORs and suggested methodology, and
a detailed work plan for the entire assignment.
A detailed budget for the expected assignment shall include all costs expected to conduct a disability inclusive and participatory study, and taxes according to the rules and regulations of the consultants’ local tax authorities. < r>
SDL reserves the right to terminate the contract in case the agreed consultant/s are unavailable at the start or during the assignment.
