Product Specialist
You're Role
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Product Specialist to drive efficiency and service excellence in the Compressed Biogas (CBG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) aftermarket business. We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Product Specialist with strong expertise in electrical systems and programming. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the development, deployment, and optimization of our product offerings, ensuring technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Management:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the product line with in-depth knowledge of electrical design, components, and programming logic.
  • Provide technical support to field service teams, ensuring timely communication of product updates and service-related information.
  • Collaborate with Product company and engineering teams to provide input during product development, testing, and validation phases and service reviews.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams, user manuals, and programming guides, programs.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to internal teams.
  • Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, or embedded systems to meet specific customer needs.
  • Train field teams with collaboration of Competence Manager to design and execute training programs for aftermarket engineers, dealer service personnel, and customers., service providers, and end users on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Analyse field complaints /feedback to suggest design improvements or software updates to product company and get it done.
  • Represent field issues and identify solution Technical Coordination Meetings (TCM) and Product Quality Meetings (PQM). Implement end to end engineering solution in the form ECB/TSN.
  • Manage warranty claims, track them in the Want database, and follow up with Product Companies (PC), vendors, and service providers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Product launches with demos, training, and customer interaction.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety and coding standards.
  • Operations Management:
  • Coordinate with Inventory Managers, Logistics teams, and PC to ensure the timely availability of spare parts for warranty orders, stock transfers, and ROC parts.
  • Drive efficiency improvement projects to optimize service operations.
  • Manage existing and new Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts, supporting the regional sales & service teams post-SAP implementation.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to service planners, ensuring efficient warranty handling, ROC management, and order booking.
  • Monitor and manage spare parts availability, equipment master data, and work-in-progress (WIP) aging reports.
  • Submit monthly reports to the Service Manager on technical issues, inventory status, indirect service costs, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Price Management:
  • Issue and manage spare parts price lists based on market conditions and business strategy.
  • Review warranty claims to ensure accurate submissions and recovery from the PC.
  • Develop spare part kits and provide guidance to the operations team for strategic stock management, particularly for new product development (NPD) projects.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, and technical teams, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, gather feedback, and work closely with local service teams to address concerns proactively.
  • Improve Net Promoter Score (NPS) by ensuring timely issue resolution and exceptional customer support.
  • Align with Atlas Copco's Vision, Mission, and Core Values, ensuring adherence to Business Code of Conduct, Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) norms, and company policies.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a technical role involving electrical systems and control programming.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.) and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Experience in programming languages like Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Python, or C/C++.

Our client, a renowned provider of industrial equipment and solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Service Engineer to lead their remote technical support operations. This is a critical, fully remote role focused on providing expert-level assistance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic support for complex installation and maintenance issues. You will be instrumental in ensuring maximum uptime and client satisfaction by delivering advanced technical guidance to field technicians and customers globally.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide remote, expert-level technical support for complex installation, maintenance, and repair issues across a range of industrial machinery and systems.
  • Diagnose intricate technical problems through detailed communication, remote access tools, and analysis of diagnostic data.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive technical training materials and remote coaching sessions for junior field technicians and customer support teams.
  • Create and update technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, maintenance procedures, and best practices.
  • Analyze service reports and equipment performance data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for product improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product development, and customer support teams to resolve complex client challenges.
  • Act as a primary point of escalation for critical technical issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Advise on preventative maintenance strategies and optimal operational procedures to minimize downtime.
  • Manage remote diagnostic tools and software, ensuring their effective utilization.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of product lines, technical specifications, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in field service, installation, maintenance, or technical support of complex industrial equipment.
  • Proven expertise in diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Strong proficiency with diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and remote access software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a fully remote setting.
  • Experience in training or mentoring junior technical staff is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of specific industry sectors relevant to the client's equipment (e.g., manufacturing, automation, energy) is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and industrial automation systems is preferred.
