Our solutions include prevention, obesity and weight management, family screening, and nutrition education to prevent and manage diabetes and endocrine-related conditions.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Registered Nurse located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, monitoring patient health, administering medications, and working closely with other healthcare professionals. Additionally, the role involves educating patients about managing their conditions, conducting family screenings, and offering nutrition and lifestyle advice to support overall health and wellness.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing care to patients living with chronic disease with special emphasis on diabetes and other endocrine/metabolic conditions while adhering to compliance standards. This candidate should be able to recognize patient needs and prioritize those needs with the needs outlined by their physicians.
Responsibilities
- Primary assessment and triage of patients coming into the clinic
- Provision of medical education for those living with diabetes or other non communicable diseases
- Participation in in-house and patient education sessions and trainings
- Generation of reports on cases reviewed in the clinic
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Professional Nurse (KRN) with current licensure
- A minimum of 2 years working experience
- Interested in management of patients living with chronic diseases (especially diabetes and other endocrine and metabolic conditions).
- Work experience in a diabetes clinic and up to date BLS and/or ACLS certification will be an added advantage

Under limited supervision manages the programs, staff, clinical services and fiscal processes of Camden County Public Health department. Identifies community partners, providers and agencies and develops relationships to further public health efforts in the community.

All Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
Job Responsibilities
Manages and supervises assigned staff to include performance management, clinic staffing, etc
- Assess and evaluate client care, clinic flow and staff efficiency in effort to maximize revenue while providing quality client care
- Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans
- Observes nurses and to ensure that proper nursing care is provided
- Directs and supervises program plans for the client/population-based nursing services of a county health department.
- Monitors and evaluates nursing and other clinical programs for the county.
- Participates in the development and administration of budgets.
- Creates and maintains a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse Spv (HCP193) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in nursing, public health, or related field from an accredited college or university.
Previous experience in Public Health, developing and managing budget, managing multiple programs, Quality Assurance experience, developing Community Partnerships, managing professional clinical staff and providing education to groups
