Our client, a high-end automotive service center, is looking for a skilled and certified Automotive Diagnostic Technician with specialized expertise in electric vehicles (EVs) to join their fully remote technical support team. This role is crucial for providing remote diagnostic assistance and guidance to field technicians and customers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of automotive electrical systems, internal combustion engines, and advanced diagnostic procedures, with a specific focus on EV powertrains, battery management systems (BMS), charging infrastructure, and associated software. You will be responsible for analyzing complex diagnostic data, troubleshooting vehicle performance issues, and providing clear, actionable solutions to our service partners. This involves interpreting scan tool data, wiring diagrams, and technical service bulletins to identify root causes of malfunctions. You will utilize remote diagnostic tools and software platforms to connect with vehicles and provide real-time support. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to clearly articulate technical information to technicians with varying levels of expertise, as well as to customers. Maintaining accurate and detailed service records is a key responsibility. Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in automotive technology, particularly in the rapidly evolving EV landscape, is critical. ASE certifications (G1, A6, A8, L3) and specific EV training are highly desirable. This is a remote-first position, requiring self-motivation, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to work independently while meeting service level agreements. A reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace are necessary. You will collaborate closely with the technical support manager and other specialists to resolve challenging diagnostic cases.
