JOB TITLE: PUBLIC SECTOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD
REPORTING TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER br>LOCATION: KENYA
JOB TYPE: FULL TIME
JOB FIELD: SALES / ICT / PUBLIC SECTOR DIGITALISATION / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
THE ROLE: BE THE STRATEGY BEHIND THE GAME.
We’re seeking an accomplished and driven sales leader with a proven track record of advancing ICT solutions across regional markets, particularly within the public sector and development finance sector. In this role, you will spearhead sales strategies, establish customer relationships, and drive revenue growth across multiple regions and sectors. If you have a proven track record in Public sector Digital Transformation, enterprise software (ERP) sales, expertise in the public sector, and the ability to lead high-performing sales teams, this is your opportunity. < r>REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Academic Qualifications
A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
Key Qualifications & Competencies:
A solid 10–15 years of progressive experience in regional sales of ICT and technology-driven solutions. < r> emonstrated expertise in marketing and selling enterprise-grade software, including ERP systems, with a strong history of successful engagements within the public sector.
Deep familiarity with responding to RFPs, navigating tendering procedures, and complying with public procurement policies.
Experience selling a broad spectrum of IT offerings—from enterprise applications and digital platforms to innovative technology services. < r> A successful track record of engaging with Development Finance Institutions (e.g., World Bank, IFC, regional development banks), including winning projects and securing funding support.
Strong commercial insight with a strategic, data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
Holds a Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field; an MBA is preferred. < r> W llingness and availability to travel frequently across the African continent and beyond as business demands.
Proven leadership capabilities—able to inspire, lead, and develop high-performing sales teams across multiple regions. < r> E ceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a strong ability to operate across diverse cultural environments.
A natural go-getter with sharp instincts, a growth mindset, and relentless motivation to drive sales performance.
Skilled in mentoring sales talent while also leading and closing high-value, complex deals.
Experienced in designing and executing innovative go-to-market strategies in dynamic, highly competitive landscapes.
Demonstrates a readiness to adopt and implement bold new ideas aimed at expanding market reach and accelerating revenue growth.
Comfortable navigating multi-layered sales cycles involving government institutions, donor agencies, and large consortiums.
Well-versed in international procurement frameworks and funding processes common among DFIs and multilateral agencies.
Responsibilities:
Spearhead the formulation and implementation of a comprehensive sales strategy for IT solutions, focusing on both immediate business growth and long-term scalability.
Proactively source, negotiate, and secure high-value deals by fostering strong relationships with key decision-makers in multilateral institutions and development finance organizations.
Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure that solutions are effectively positioned and tailored to meet client-specific needs.
Establish and nurture high-impact partnerships with both regional and international players to broaden market reach and influence across new territories.
Design and execute forward-thinking go-to-market approaches, informed by sectoral trends and growth opportunities in the ICT and development ecosystems.
Work cross-functionally and across borders to ensure that sales initiatives are strategically aligned with broader organizational objectives and supported by internal resources.
Lead, inspire, and manage a high-performing international sales team through regular coaching, performance tracking, and strategic alignment.
