On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced MHE Operator to work in Nairobi, Kenya
Job Summary:
Is responsible for moving goods from different storage areas to loading areas for deliveries. Unloading consignments and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas. Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions. Ensures that goods and materials are processed and handled correctly in the warehouse, facilitating their movement from receipt to delivery while maintaining the integrity and quality of the products.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational activities
· Loading and unloading goods from delivery trucks or containers.
· Sorting, checking, documentation and put away of incoming products.
· Transfer products within the various sections of the warehouse and Put away products accurately into storage bins as directed by put away tasks
· Utilizes radio frequency (RF) scanning equipment to track inventory
· Labelling goods stored in the warehouse for easy inventory tracking and retrieval.
· Label products and/or orders as per instructions.
· Maintain assigned warehouse area and equipment
· Inspecting inventory for damages and reporting these to management.
· Picking, packing, staging and dispatching outgoing goods.
· Pick products from the correct bins as directed by picking tasks and accurate checking of picked orders
· Maintaining inventory control, ensuring no discrepancies in stock levels.
· Operating warehouse machinery such as pallet hand jacks safely.
· Ensuring the warehouse environment remains clean, tidy, and safe.
· Conducting regular inventory counts and reporting any stock issues or discrepancies to the warehouse supervisors.
· Carry out VAS activities and re-packing of export
· Generate activity reports
· Ensure loading of staged orders as per schedule and route plan
· Validate shipment accuracy, including courier waybills and customer instructions.
· Coordinate urgent dispatch requests with Supervisors.
Maintenance of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Assurance (SHEQ)
· Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others as per standard operating procedures
· Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency
· Generate records for assigned rack and equipment
· Participate in SOP and other scheduled trainings.
· Ensure punctuality in reporting and execution of assigned tasks
· Report near misses and safety hazards, exercise stop work authority
Communication, Coordination, and Team Collaboration
· Effective communication and timely escalation
· Ensure respectful behavior toward all individuals
· Achieve set goals and KPI’s.
· Share information, processes and knowledge openly
· Active participation in continuous improvement initiatives
· Help the warehouse grow through better teamwork and smart solutions.
· Drive progress by working smarter and supporting each other.
Maintenance of Environmental Management System
· Support departmental EMS objectives through responsible resource usage and waste management.
· Ensure accurate reporting of environmental data and compliance with sustainability targets.
Material Handling Equipment Management
· Ensure safe operation of all MHE including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors.
· Implement preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
· Maintain equipment logs and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
Report
· Generate MHE inspection report, service hours and any other MHE related issues
· Generate activity report
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
· As defined by Management from time to time

· Form four education or equivalent
· Warehouse operations training and experience
· Analytical skills, attention to detail
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Forklift/ Reach truck operations as applicable with valid driving licence (Class G endorsement)
