Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Civil Engineer with a specialization in Geotechnical and Foundation Design to join their globally distributed team. This role is exclusively remote, empowering you to leverage your expertise from anywhere and contribute to diverse projects across various geographical locations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, slope stability analysis, and ground improvement techniques. You will be responsible for overseeing complex geotechnical investigations, developing innovative foundation solutions, and ensuring the stability and safety of structures. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, structural engineers, and construction teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage geotechnical investigations and site characterization studies for major infrastructure and building projects.
  • Develop detailed geotechnical reports, including soil behavior analysis, bearing capacity assessments, and settlement predictions.
  • Design various types of foundations, including shallow foundations, deep foundations (piles, caissons), and retaining structures.
  • Perform slope stability analyses and design remedial measures for landslides and unstable slopes.
  • Evaluate and recommend ground improvement techniques based on site-specific conditions.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant geotechnical engineering standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with structural engineers, civil engineers, and architects to integrate geotechnical recommendations into overall project design.
  • Review contractor submittals related to earthworks, foundations, and geotechnical aspects.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior geotechnical engineers and support staff.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering. A Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent registration is essential.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical and foundation engineering.
  • Proven expertise in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GEO5, SLOPE/W, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and hydrogeology.
