Our client, a dedicated environmental conservation charity, is seeking a passionate and proactive Remote Community Engagement Coordinator to join their team. This role is crucial for building strong relationships with local communities and promoting sustainable environmental practices. As a fully remote position, you will leverage digital communication tools and occasional travel (as needed and safe) to connect with communities across various regions. You will be responsible for designing and implementing outreach programs, organizing educational workshops, and facilitating community dialogues focused on conservation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of community dynamics, and a genuine commitment to environmental stewardship. You will work closely with field teams, local leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure community needs and perspectives are integrated into conservation strategies. Responsibilities include developing engaging communication materials, coordinating volunteer efforts, managing social media campaigns related to community projects, and tracking the impact of engagement activities. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can inspire participation and foster a sense of shared responsibility for environmental protection. This remote role requires strong self-discipline, excellent organizational abilities, and a creative approach to engaging diverse audiences. - Organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and community meetings (online and potentially in-person).
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and stakeholders.
- Create engaging content for communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and websites.
- Coordinate and support volunteer recruitment and management for conservation activities.
- Gather community feedback and incorporate it into project planning and implementation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives.
- Advocate for sustainable environmental practices within communities.
- Provide regular reports on engagement activities and outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Community Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or a related role.
- Demonstrated passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs or workshops.
- Proficiency in using online collaboration and communication tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Experience with social media management is a plus.
- Understanding of community dynamics and participatory approaches.
