Our client, a leader in chemical process innovation, is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Remote Chemical Process Optimization Engineer. This is a fully remote, strategic position focused on enhancing the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of chemical manufacturing processes worldwide. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, advanced process modeling, and data analytics. You will be responsible for analyzing process data, identifying areas for improvement, developing simulation models, and recommending optimized operating parameters. This role requires exceptional problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical recommendations clearly and persuasively to stakeholders across different technical levels. You will work closely with plant engineers and production teams to implement and validate your recommendations, all managed through remote collaboration.
Responsibilities: - Analyze large datasets from chemical processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for yield improvement or cost reduction.
- Develop and utilize advanced process simulation models (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to predict process behavior and evaluate optimization strategies.
- Design and recommend modifications to process parameters, equipment, and control strategies to enhance performance and sustainability.
- Collaborate with plant-based engineering teams to implement, monitor, and validate optimized processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and equipment failures, providing data-driven solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations outlining findings, recommendations, and expected outcomes.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices in chemical process engineering and optimization.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on process improvement projects.
- Ensure all optimization efforts align with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical process design, development, or optimization.
- Proven expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and reaction kinetics.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical methods.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information effectively.
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with process control systems (DCS/SCADA) and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainable process design is a plus.
