The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of various specialty insurance markets, including but not limited to, professional liability, D&O, cyber insurance, and construction risk. Your responsibilities will include analyzing market trends, assessing the financial health of potential clients, and negotiating terms and conditions with brokers and agents. Strong leadership and team development skills are essential, as you will guide your team in evaluating complex risks and providing exceptional service to clients and partners. Collaboration with claims, actuarial, and sales departments is vital for a comprehensive approach to risk management. You must be adept at using underwriting software and analytics tools to enhance decision-making and identify new business opportunities. Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities are crucial. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required; an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is highly preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in insurance underwriting, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role, is essential. Proven success in managing underwriting profitability and driving growth in specialty lines is a must.
