- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technical artists and the wider art team.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in real-time rendering technologies, game engines, and art tools.
- Work with engineers to integrate art assets and features seamlessly into the game build.
- Conduct technical evaluations of art content to ensure it meets quality and performance standards.
- Document technical specifications, pipeline guidelines, and best practices for the art department.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Game Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Technical Artist in the video game industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
- Expertise in one or more major game engines such as Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) or Unity.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing software (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Substance Painter, Photoshop).
- Strong understanding of shader development, material authoring, and rendering techniques.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL, C#) for tool development and pipeline automation.
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques and profiling tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
