Our client, a prominent international organization dedicated to improving global public health outcomes, is seeking a Senior Sanitation and Hygiene Specialist to join our fully remote team. This role is critical in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies to enhance sanitation and hygiene practices in underserved communities. You will work remotely to support programmatic efforts, collaborating with local partners, government agencies, and NGOs. Your expertise will drive impactful change in public health through improved WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) initiatives. This fully remote position allows for flexibility while focusing on critical global health challenges.

- Develop and implement evidence-based strategies and programs to improve sanitation and hygiene access and practices in target communities.
- Conduct needs assessments, situational analyses, and baseline studies related to sanitation and hygiene.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field teams, local partners, and government stakeholders in the design and implementation of WASH interventions.
- Develop training materials and facilitate capacity-building workshops for community health workers, local leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of sanitation and hygiene programs, ensuring adherence to project objectives and indicators.
- Contribute to proposal development and fundraising efforts for new WASH initiatives.
- Stay abreast of the latest research, innovations, and best practices in sanitation, hygiene promotion, and public health.
- Prepare technical reports, policy briefs, and communication materials to disseminate program findings and advocate for policy changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization and external partners in a remote setting.
- Ensure programmatic alignment with national and international WASH standards and guidelines.
- Master's degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in WASH program design, implementation, and management, with a strong focus on sanitation and hygiene.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing behavior change communication strategies for hygiene promotion.
- Strong understanding of sanitation technologies, fecal sludge management, and community-led total sanitation (CLTS) approaches.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating public health programs, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local languages spoken in the supported regions is an asset.
- Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or government health ministries is highly desirable.
