Job Description
Our client, a leading player in the energy sector, is seeking an exceptional Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their fully remote exploration and production team. This is a critical role focused on optimizing hydrocarbon recovery and maximizing asset value through expert reservoir analysis and management. You will be instrumental in evaluating exploration opportunities, developing production strategies, and forecasting reservoir performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid flow in porous media, and advanced simulation techniques.
Key responsibilities include conducting detailed reservoir studies, performing material balance calculations, and utilizing sophisticated reservoir simulation software to model subsurface behavior. You will be responsible for estimating reserves, developing field development plans, and recommending appropriate enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods. This role requires close collaboration with geoscientists, production engineers, and drilling engineers to integrate subsurface data and ensure cohesive field development strategies. You will also be involved in economic evaluations of exploration and development projects, contributing to investment decisions. The ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential.
Qualifications include a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering, with a strong emphasis on exploration and development projects, is required. Proven experience with industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Schlumberger Eclipse, Halliburton Landmark) is mandatory. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, are crucial for this remote position. The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, and deliver high-quality results within deadlines is expected. You should be adaptable to a dynamic, remote work environment and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant projects within the oil and gas industry from the comfort of your home office, driving innovation and excellence in reservoir management. Our client is committed to fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning for their remote workforce.
