Our client, a pioneering firm in renewable energy solutions, is seeking an accomplished Senior Remote Electrical Engineering Lead specializing in Power Systems. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise from **Kitale, Trans-Nzoia, KE**, or any location conducive to remote work. You will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge power systems for our innovative projects. This includes everything from grid-tied solar farms to advanced energy storage solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass leading electrical design efforts, performing complex simulations, ensuring system integrity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring projects from concept to completion. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation and proven leadership capabilities in the electrical engineering domain.

- Lead the electrical design and engineering of power systems, including AC/DC distribution, power electronics, and energy storage systems.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and component specifications.
- Perform power system analysis, load flow studies, fault current calculations, and transient stability simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD).
- Oversee the selection and procurement of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and software engineering teams to ensure integrated system design and performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and design staff.
- Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans for power systems.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant international and local standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NEC).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues that arise during project execution and operation.
- Contribute to R&D efforts for new power system technologies and solutions.
- Manage external vendor relationships for electrical equipment and services.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical power system design, analysis, and implementation.
- Demonstrated expertise in renewable energy systems (solar, wind) and energy storage solutions (batteries, etc.).
- Proficiency in power system simulation software (ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Strong understanding of grid interconnection standards and regulations.
- Experience with high-voltage equipment, protection relays, and control systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Experience with project documentation, design reviews, and regulatory compliance.
