Our client is seeking an innovative Senior Process Engineer with expertise in industrial automation to join their fully remote team. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems and processes within various industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of control systems, PLC programming, SCADA, HMI development, and manufacturing execution systems (MES). You will be responsible for analyzing existing processes, identifying areas for automation, developing detailed design specifications, and overseeing the successful integration of automated solutions. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a meticulous approach to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.

- Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron) and other automation hardware.
- Design and implement SCADA systems for data acquisition, monitoring, and control.
- Develop and test HMI applications for intuitive user interaction and process visualization.
- Integrate automation systems with existing plant infrastructure and enterprise systems (MES, ERP).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation hardware and software.
- Conduct commissioning and validation of automated systems to ensure performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including P&IDs, electrical schematics, and operating manuals.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in industrial automation technologies, robotics, and Industry 4.0 concepts.
- Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide training and technical support to plant operations and maintenance personnel.
- Contribute to safety reviews and ensure all automation designs adhere to relevant safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial automation and process control engineering.
- Proven expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000), SCADA, and HMI development.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
- Experience with robotics integration and vision systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of MES and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects effectively, and deliver results in a remote setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISA-88 and ISA-95.
- Experience with simulation software for automation design and testing is beneficial.
