- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to protect the telecommunications network infrastructure.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and remediate potential weaknesses.
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and respond promptly to security incidents, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
- Architect and deploy security enhancements for routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Collaborate with network operations teams to ensure secure network configurations and operations.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends, recommending appropriate countermeasures.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training for technical staff.
- Manage security-related vendor relationships and evaluate new security technologies.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Lead incident response efforts and conduct post-incident reviews to improve security posture.
- Document network security architectures, configurations, and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in network security engineering, with a strong focus on telecommunications environments.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.
- Hands-on experience with various security technologies such as Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Juniper SRX.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN).
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm) and network monitoring solutions.
- Strong understanding of encryption technologies and best practices.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or GIAC are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and incident response capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fully remote, global team.
