Our client, a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector, is actively seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Geoscientist to join their Exploration team based in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu, KE . This critical role involves the comprehensive analysis of geological and geophysical data to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon reserves. You will be responsible for integrating diverse datasets, building complex geological models, and providing expert interpretations to guide exploration and development strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of subsurface characterization techniques, advanced modeling software, and a proven track record of success in exploration projects. - Conduct prospectivity assessments and risk analysis for exploration opportunities.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers and development geologists to optimize field development plans.
- Utilize advanced geological software packages (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) for data interpretation and modeling.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and exploration teams.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geoscience technology and methodologies.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of exploration drilling campaigns.
- Mentor junior geoscientists and share technical expertise within the team.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and safety standards in all geological activities.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in oil and gas exploration geoscience.
- Demonstrated expertise in seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and geological modeling.
- Proficiency with industry-standard geoscience software (e.g., Petrel, Landmark, GeoGraphix).
- Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, and stratigraphy.
- Proven ability to integrate diverse geological datasets and perform complex risk assessments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Experience in frontier or challenging exploration basins is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Eldoret, Uasin Gishu, KE for this position.
