Our client, a prominent healthcare facility, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Environmental Services Supervisor to oversee operations at their Embu, Embu, KE campus. - Conducting regular inspections of all areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness and sanitation standards, identifying and rectifying any deficiencies.
- Managing the inventory and ordering of cleaning supplies, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Training new environmental services staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and infection control policies.
- Monitoring and ensuring the proper handling, storage, and disposal of all waste streams, including hazardous and medical waste, in compliance with regulations.
- Responding promptly to spills, emergencies, and other cleaning-related issues.
- Developing and implementing quality assurance programs for the environmental services department.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as infection control and facilities management, to address any environmental concerns.
- Maintaining accurate records of cleaning activities, staff performance, and supply usage.
- Ensuring all team members adhere to safety regulations and are properly trained on the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Motivating and guiding the team to achieve high levels of performance and job satisfaction.
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in environmental services or housekeeping, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning techniques, infection control principles, and waste management procedures relevant to healthcare environments.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
