The Senior Environmental Sanitation Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive sanitation programs aimed at maintaining high standards of hygiene, public health, and environmental safety. You will play a pivotal role in designing strategies for waste management, pest control, water quality, and public space cleanliness. This position requires a strong understanding of public health regulations, environmental science, and effective operational management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for environmental sanitation services, including waste management, recycling, and disposal.
- Design and manage programs for effective pest and vector control in various environments.
- Oversee water quality monitoring and ensure compliance with drinking water standards and public health guidelines.
- Develop and enforce protocols for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in public spaces, facilities, and community areas.
- Conduct regular site assessments and audits to identify sanitation risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Lead and train teams responsible for sanitation operations, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and best practices.
- Manage the procurement and deployment of sanitation equipment and supplies.
- Develop and deliver public health and sanitation awareness campaigns and educational programs for communities.
- Analyze sanitation data to monitor performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with local government authorities, health organizations, and other stakeholders to address sanitation challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local environmental and public health laws and regulations.
- Develop and manage budgets for sanitation programs and operations.
- Investigate and respond to public complaints and concerns related to sanitation issues.
- Master's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental sanitation management, public health, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing successful waste management and public health programs.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sanitation best practices, and pest control methods.
- Experience with water quality testing and monitoring protocols.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and operational planning skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
- Certification in Public Health Inspection or a related discipline is a plus.
