Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop specifications for electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Perform detailed power system studies, such as load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and harmonic analysis.
- Develop protection schemes and coordinate protective relays for various power system configurations.
- Design and specify substation components, including transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear.
- Analyze the impact of renewable energy sources (solar, wind) on grid stability and power quality.
- Develop and review single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, and construction drawings.
- Conduct site visits for system surveys and commissioning activities as required (minimal).
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and clients to ensure project success.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to power systems.
- Stay updated on the latest power system technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in electrical power system engineering.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software such as ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD, or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of power system principles, including load flow, fault analysis, transient stability, and protection coordination.
- Experience with renewable energy integration and distributed generation systems.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team setting.
- Experience with SCADA systems is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.
