Our client, a reputable legal firm, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Corporate Lawyer specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to join their fully remote legal team. This position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in Kenya while handling complex legal matters for a diverse clientele. - Managing and advising clients through all phases of M&A transactions, including due diligence, negotiation, and closing.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of corporate agreements, such as share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, and joint venture agreements.
- Providing expert legal counsel on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
- Conducting legal research and preparing legal opinions.
- Representing clients in various legal proceedings and negotiations.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Staying abreast of changes in corporate law and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external advisors.
- Mentoring junior legal associates and contributing to the firm's knowledge base.
- Ensuring the highest standards of legal practice and client service.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
- Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
- Minimum of 8 years of post-admission experience in corporate law, with a significant focus on M&A.
- Proven track record of successfully handling complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions.
- In-depth knowledge of Kenyan corporate and commercial law.
- Exceptional analytical, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand clients' commercial objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of remote collaboration.
- Must be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.
- Must be legally eligible to practice law remotely within Kenya.
