Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Corporate Counsel with a strong focus on international compliance to join their dynamic, fully remote legal team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in navigating complex legal landscapes and ensuring adherence to global regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cross-border legal requirements, risk management, and corporate governance. You will be responsible for advising on a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to, data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), anti-bribery and corruption (FCPA, UK Bribery Act), sanctions compliance, and export controls.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, developing and implementing robust compliance policies and procedures, conducting internal investigations, and providing strategic legal guidance to business units across various international jurisdictions. You will also manage external counsel, monitor legislative and regulatory changes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's legal and compliance framework. The ability to work independently, manage a diverse workload, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders in a remote environment is paramount. Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
- Admission to the bar in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant legal experience, with a significant portion focused on international corporate law and compliance.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
- Expertise in areas such as data privacy, anti-corruption, sanctions, and export controls.
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- Experience with contract management systems is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
