This critical role will focus on optimizing and troubleshooting chemical processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, extensive experience in process design and simulation, and a keen ability to analyze complex data to drive improvements. You will be responsible for evaluating existing processes, recommending modifications, and collaborating with on-site teams to implement solutions that enhance production yield and reduce operational costs. - Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model and evaluate process designs and operational scenarios.
- Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic evaluations for new process technologies and plant expansions.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to plant personnel.
- Design and oversee pilot plant studies and scale-up operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure stable and efficient operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and project engineering.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documentation for process improvements and capital projects.
- Stay current with advancements in chemical engineering technology and industry best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise within the team.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in chemical process design, simulation, and optimization.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD).
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and separation processes.
- Experience with process safety management (PSM) principles and hazard analysis (HAZOP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
- Experience in areas such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, or specialty chemicals is a plus.
- Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
