Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Agronomist to lead their remote crop science initiatives. This is a fully remote role, ideal for an expert passionate about advancing agricultural practices through innovative research and development. You will be responsible for designing and overseeing field trials, analyzing crop performance data, and developing best-practice recommendations for a variety of crops. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of plant physiology, soil science, pest and disease management, and sustainable farming techniques. You will collaborate closely with agronomists, researchers, and product development teams to translate scientific insights into practical, on-farm solutions that enhance yield, quality, and resource efficiency.

- Analyze crop performance data, including yield, quality, and environmental impact metrics.
- Develop and refine agronomic recommendations for planting, fertilization, irrigation, and pest/disease control.
- Provide expert technical guidance on soil health, nutrient management, and sustainable agricultural practices.
- Collaborate with breeders and plant pathologists to identify and address crop challenges.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in agronomy, crop science, and agricultural technology.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, research papers, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of innovative agricultural solutions and strategies.
- Mentor junior agronomists and support the growth of the crop science team.
- Manage relationships with research partners, growers, and industry stakeholders.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural field.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in agronomy and crop research, with a strong focus on field trials and data analysis.
- Proven expertise in one or more key crop types.
- In-depth knowledge of plant physiology, soil fertility, and integrated pest management (IPM).
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R) and experimental design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific information effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects in a remote setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for sustainable agriculture and crop improvement.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies is a plus.
