Our client is a leader in advanced manufacturing solutions and is seeking a highly skilled Remote Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere. You will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of complex mechanical systems and components, utilizing state-of-the-art CAD software and simulation tools. Your expertise will be vital in pushing the boundaries of mechanical engineering within a collaborative, distributed team environment. You will work on projects ranging from conceptualization to production, ensuring designs meet stringent performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.

- Lead the mechanical design of new products and systems, from concept generation through to detailed design and validation.
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor).
- Perform mechanical simulations and analyses (FEA, CFD) to predict and optimize performance, durability, and thermal characteristics.
- Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes to meet design specifications and cost targets.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, in a remote setting.
- Develop and execute design verification and validation plans, including prototyping and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues encountered during development, testing, and production.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
- Document design specifications, test results, and manufacturing instructions thoroughly.
- Mentor junior mechanical engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Research and recommend new technologies, materials, and design approaches to enhance product performance and innovation.
- Manage design tasks and project timelines effectively within a remote team structure.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and tools.
- Interface with manufacturing partners to ensure seamless transition from design to production.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency in advanced 3D CAD software and PDM/PLM systems.
- Strong experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools.
- In-depth knowledge of material science, manufacturing processes, and mechanical principles.
- Experience in designing complex mechanisms, structures, or electromechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry-specific standards and certifications.
