Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Remote Principal Geologist to lead geological exploration and resource evaluation efforts within their mining operations. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to apply your extensive expertise from anywhere. You will be at the forefront of identifying new mineral deposits, characterizing existing ones, and providing critical geological insights that drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of exploration methodologies, structural geology, and resource modeling.

- Collaborate closely with mining engineers, metallurgists, and geostatisticians to ensure integrated resource management.
- Utilize cutting-edge software for geological modeling, data visualization, and analysis.
- Prepare comprehensive geological reports, technical memorandums, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Provide expert geological advice for mine planning, operations, and mine closure.
- Mentor and guide junior geological staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in exploration technologies, geological concepts, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage external geological consultants and contractors as needed.
- Conduct due diligence on potential acquisitions and exploration joint ventures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental best practices.
- Contribute to the company's strategic planning and business development initiatives.
- Develop and manage the geological budget for exploration projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration and resource geology, with a strong focus on deposit modeling and evaluation.
- Proven track record of discovering significant mineral deposits.
- Expertise in structural geology, economic geology, and mineral systems.
- Proficiency in industry-standard geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Micromine).
- Strong understanding of geophysical and geochemical exploration techniques.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage remote teams and stakeholders effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and budgets from inception to completion.
- Experience with geostatistical analysis and resource estimation (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101 standards).
- Knowledge of various mining methods and their geological implications.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to translate complex geological concepts into actionable business insights.
