Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Remote Lead HVAC Systems Engineer to join their innovative, fully remote team. This role is pivotal in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for a variety of clients and projects. You will be responsible for leading the engineering efforts, ensuring system efficiency, compliance with regulations, and providing expert remote technical consultation. This position requires a deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building systems, combined with exceptional problem-solving and communication skills to thrive in a remote-first environment.

- Conduct remote site analysis and system performance assessments, troubleshooting issues and identifying areas for improvement.
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to clients, installation teams, and maintenance personnel via virtual communication channels.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, industry standards, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into overall project plans.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff in best practices for HVAC system design and implementation.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in HVAC technology, sustainable design principles, and energy-saving solutions.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, reports, and technical manuals.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for HVAC engineering tasks in a remote setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in HVAC system design and engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC principles, system components, controls, and energy modeling.
- Proficiency in using HVAC design and simulation software (e.g., HAP, TRACE 3D Plus, Revit MEP).
- Strong understanding of building codes (e.g., ASHRAE, IECC) and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information remotely.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Experience in managing projects and working collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Knowledge of sustainable design and green building certifications (e.g., LEED) is advantageous.
