This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to critical projects from the comfort of your home office. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in drilling fluid systems, their design, management, and optimization. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of drilling wells by providing expert advice on fluid properties, chemical treatments, and solids control. This role requires a strong understanding of geology, wellbore stability, and formation pressures to tailor fluid programs accordingly. You will analyze drilling fluid performance data, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to mitigate risks and improve drilling efficiency. Collaboration with drilling engineers, rig crews, and technical support teams is paramount, necessitating excellent remote communication and problem-solving skills. - Provide technical support and troubleshooting for drilling fluid issues.
- Analyze fluid samples and laboratory data to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Recommend appropriate chemical treatments and additives to optimize fluid performance.
- Oversee solids control equipment and procedures.
- Manage inventory and procurement of drilling fluid chemicals and materials.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations related to drilling fluids.
- Collaborate with drilling engineers to develop drilling plans and fluid programs.
- Prepare technical reports on fluid performance, costs, and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related science discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry.
- In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and additives.
- Experience with various drilling fluid systems (water-based, oil-based, synthetic-based).
- Familiarity with solids control and fluid waste management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working remotely.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of drilling operations and wellbore hydraulics.
