Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct remote analysis of soil, weather, and geospatial data to inform crop management decisions.
- Develop and recommend precision agriculture strategies to optimize resource utilization (water, fertilizer, energy).
- Advise farmers on crop selection, planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques based on data-driven insights.
- Utilize drone imagery, satellite data, and sensor networks for field monitoring and analysis.
- Provide expert guidance on the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural inputs.
- Educate and train farmers on the adoption and use of precision agriculture technologies.
- Develop comprehensive farm management plans tailored to individual farmer needs.
- Monitor crop health and identify potential disease or pest outbreaks, recommending preventative measures.
- Contribute to the development and testing of new agricultural technologies and software.
- Maintain detailed records of farm visits, analyses, recommendations, and outcomes.
- Stay current with agricultural research, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Soil Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience in precision agriculture techniques and technologies.
- Proficiency in analyzing agricultural data using software such as GIS, remote sensing platforms, and farm management systems.
- Strong understanding of crop physiology, soil chemistry, and plant pathology.
- Experience with data interpretation and presentation to diverse audiences.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely.
- Familiarity with IoT devices, drones, and agricultural sensors.
