Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive crop management plans tailored to specific crops and environmental conditions.
- Provide expert advice on soil fertility management, including nutrient analysis and fertilizer recommendations.
- Advise on irrigation strategies to optimize water use efficiency.
- Identify and diagnose crop diseases, pest infestations, and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Analyze data from soil tests, weather patterns, and satellite imagery to inform decision-making.
- Conduct virtual field assessments and provide remote guidance to farmers.
- Research and recommend new agricultural technologies and sustainable farming practices.
- Develop and deliver training materials and workshops for farmers (virtually).
- Monitor crop health and performance remotely and provide ongoing support.
- Maintain detailed records of consultations, recommendations, and crop performance data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in agronomy or crop management.
- Strong knowledge of plant physiology, soil science, and pest/disease management.
- Experience with data analysis tools and agricultural software.
- Familiarity with remote sensing technologies and GIS is a significant advantage.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver results in a remote work environment.
