Our client, a leading player in the global Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Reservoir Engineer to join their elite, fully remote technical team. This senior-level position is crucial for optimizing hydrocarbon recovery, evaluating exploration opportunities, and ensuring the economic viability of complex reservoir assets. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in reservoir characterization, performance analysis, simulation, and development planning, with a strong understanding of both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. You will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance, leading reservoir studies, mentoring junior engineers, and influencing strategic decisions related to reservoir management. This role requires exceptional analytical and modeling capabilities, a deep understanding of petroleum engineering principles, and the ability to thrive in an independent, remote work setting.

- Lead comprehensive reservoir characterization and analysis for existing and prospective oil and gas assets.
- Develop and execute advanced reservoir simulation models to predict reservoir performance and optimize production strategies.
- Conduct detailed economic evaluations and uncertainty assessments for reservoir development plans.
- Provide expert technical guidance on reservoir engineering best practices and emerging technologies.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and improved reservoir management.
- Mentor and guide junior reservoir engineers, fostering technical growth and skill development.
- Collaborate with geoscientists, production engineers, and management to define field development strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
- Evaluate exploration opportunities and provide input on reserve estimations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes impacting reservoir engineering.
- Champion best practices in data management and technical integrity.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressively responsible experience in reservoir engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG, PETREL RE), reservoir characterization techniques, and production forecasting.
- Strong background in reservoir economics, risk analysis, and decision-making under uncertainty.
- Proven ability to lead complex reservoir studies and deliver impactful recommendations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead technical efforts in a fully remote environment.
- Experience with unconventional reservoirs and/or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques is highly desirable.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification is a plus.
