Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate geological models using advanced 3D modeling software, integrating diverse datasets (drilling, geophysics, surface mapping).
- Perform comprehensive resource and reserve estimations according to international standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
- Conduct geostatistical analysis, variography, and domain modeling to accurately define resource boundaries and grades.
- Identify key geological controls on mineralization and their impact on resource potential.
- Collaborate with mining engineers to optimize mine planning and economic viability assessments.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and summaries for internal management and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior geologists and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to exploration strategy by identifying high-potential areas for further drilling and evaluation.
- Ensure data integrity and quality control throughout the geological modeling and estimation process.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in geological modeling software, estimation techniques, and mining industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related geoscience field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration and resource geology, with a strong focus on estimation and modeling.
- Demonstrated expertise in various geological software packages (e.g., Leapfrog Geo, Micromine, Vulcan, Datamine) and geostatistical analysis tools.
- Proven track record of successfully estimating resources for base metals, precious metals, or other relevant commodities.
- Thorough understanding of geological mapping, structural geology, and deposit modeling.
- Experience with international reporting codes (JORC, NI 43-101) is essential.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to present complex technical information clearly.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage projects effectively, and collaborate within a distributed remote team environment.
