Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Chemical Process Engineer to join their remote Chemical Engineering team. This senior role involves leading the design, analysis, and optimization of chemical processes across various industries. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency, improving safety, and ensuring the sustainability of complex chemical operations through innovative engineering solutions, all delivered remotely.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance yield, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
- Develop and implement process safety studies, including HAZOP analysis, to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Troubleshoot complex operational issues and provide expert technical guidance to plant personnel.
- Write detailed technical reports, process design documents, and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and project management, to achieve project goals.
- Stay current with advancements in chemical engineering principles, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall technical development of the team.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment for process enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in chemical process design, development, and optimization.
- Extensive experience with process simulation software and advanced modeling techniques.
- Deep understanding of chemical thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and reaction engineering.
- Proven track record in process safety management and risk assessment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to mentor engineering teams.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex projects effectively in a fully remote setting.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is highly desirable.
