Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Chemical Engineer with a specialization in process design to join their innovative team on a fully remote basis. This pivotal role will involve leading the conceptualization, development, and optimization of chemical processes for various industrial applications. You will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, performing process simulations and modeling, and developing detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that processes are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally compliant. You will also oversee the selection of equipment, define operating parameters, and provide technical support during the design and implementation phases.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, coupled with a minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in process design and engineering. Proven proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and a strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics are essential.
