Our client, a forward-thinking independent oil and gas exploration company, is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Reservoir Engineer. This is a fully remote position, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to critical exploration and production projects from your home office. You will be responsible for evaluating reservoir potential, optimizing recovery strategies, and providing expert technical guidance to exploration and development teams. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of reservoir engineering principles, extensive experience with reservoir simulation, and a proven track record in hydrocarbon asset management.
As the Lead Reservoir Engineer, your responsibilities will include performing detailed reservoir characterization, estimating hydrocarbon reserves, and developing depletion plans to maximize economic recovery. You will utilize advanced reservoir simulation software to model fluid flow, predict reservoir performance, and assess the impact of various recovery methods. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret complex geological and engineering data. You will collaborate closely with geoscientists, production engineers, and drilling engineers to ensure integrated project execution.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively present technical findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders. Experience with unconventional reservoirs, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques, and economic evaluation of oil and gas assets is highly desirable. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can manage projects independently and drive results in a fast-paced, remote environment. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and unlocking new resource opportunities and maximizing the value of existing assets. The ability to work autonomously and contribute to strategic decision-making is paramount.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Extensive experience with reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE, CMG).
- Proficiency in reserve estimation and reporting standards (e.g., SPE PRMS).
- Strong understanding of petrophysics, geology, and production engineering.
- Experience with EOR methods and unconventional reservoir development.
- Excellent analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage projects remotely.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-making.
