Our client, a major player in the telecommunications sector, is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Network Engineer to spearhead their network infrastructure development and management. This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site presence for critical operations and the flexibility of remote work for strategic planning and analysis. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure telecommunications networks, including IP networks, wireless infrastructure, and data center connectivity. The ideal candidate possesses a deep technical understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software, coupled with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, and deploy high-performance telecommunications network solutions, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and IP telephony.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers) and software.
  • Develop and implement network security measures to protect against threats and ensure data integrity.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and low latency.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Lead and mentor a team of network engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with other IT departments, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless network integration and operation.
  • Evaluate new network technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities and efficiency.
  • Develop and manage the network infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades and migrations with minimal disruption to services.
  • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network infrastructure.
  • Conduct performance testing and capacity planning for future network growth.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in the telecommunications and networking industry.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in telecommunications network engineering, with a proven track record in design, implementation, and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in a hybrid work environment, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and network architectures.
  • Experience with various network hardware vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista) and network management tools.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with wireless technologies and mobile network infrastructure (e.g., 4G/5G) is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
