You will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, development, and testing of complex mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, quality, and manufacturing requirements. - Conduct thorough stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance.
- Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation activities, ensuring designs meet all specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues encountered during the manufacturing phase.
- Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, fostering technical growth and design best practices.
- Research and recommend new technologies and methodologies to enhance design and manufacturing capabilities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and test reports.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and intellectual property requirements.
- Actively participate in all remote design reviews, team meetings, and project planning sessions.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a significant focus on product development and manufacturing.
- Proven expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and FEA/CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanical vibrations.
- Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding, additive manufacturing).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience guiding remote engineering teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration in a virtual environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Experience in the consumer electronics or automotive industry is a plus.
