- Lead the development and application of bioinformatics pipelines and analytical methodologies.
- Design and execute statistical analyses and machine learning models for high-throughput biological data.
- Collaborate with biologists, geneticists, and other researchers to define project goals and interpret results.
- Develop and maintain robust code for data processing, analysis, and visualization.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists and bioinformatics analysts.
- Contribute to the dissemination of findings through publications and presentations.
- Evaluate and implement new bioinformatics tools and technologies.
- Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and ethical handling of sensitive biological information.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in bioinformatics and data science, with a strong focus on biological data.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries (e.g., Biopython, Bioconductor).
- Hands-on experience with various data types including next-generation sequencing (NGS), microarrays, and mass spectrometry.
- Demonstrated experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization.
- Strong understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and genomics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
