Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of claims adjusters, providing guidance and support.
- Investigate, evaluate, and settle insurance claims in a timely and efficient manner.
- Determine coverage under various insurance policies and interpret policy language.
- Conduct thorough damage assessments and obtain necessary estimates and documentation.
- Negotiate fair settlements with policyholders and third-party representatives.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, documenting all actions and communications.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Handle complex and high-value claims, including litigation and subrogation cases.
- Develop and deliver training programs for claims adjusters.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of claims handling processes and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance claims adjusting.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience is a strong advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance policies, claims investigation techniques, and settlement practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in claims management software.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPCU) are preferred.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the entire claims handling process, from initial reporting to final settlement.
- Review and analyze insurance policies to determine coverage and liability.
- Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, and interview claimants and witnesses.
- Assess damages and determine the appropriate settlement amount for claims.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claims records and documentation.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and their representatives.
- Identify and address potential fraud indicators.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with policyholders.
- Assist in developing and implementing claims handling procedures and training programs.
- Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in insurance law and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in insurance claims adjusting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven expertise in investigating, evaluating, and settling various types of insurance claims (e.g., auto, property, liability).
- Thorough understanding of insurance policies, legal principles, and claims procedures.
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in claims management software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
