Our client, a leader in the chemical industry, is seeking a highly experienced Lead Chemical Engineer with a focus on Process Optimization to join their remote team. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who can drive efficiency, innovation, and cost-effectiveness in chemical processes from any location. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, process simulation, and scale-up. You will be responsible for analyzing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, designing and implementing optimized solutions, and ensuring safe and sustainable operations. This role demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent project management capabilities, and the ability to lead and mentor engineering teams remotely.

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste minimization, and energy efficiency improvements.
- Oversee pilot plant studies and scale-up activities for new or improved processes.
- Ensure all processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide technical training.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and maintenance, to implement process improvements.
- Manage engineering projects, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
- Mentor and guide junior chemical engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, with a strong emphasis on process design and optimization.
- Proven track record of successfully improving chemical processes and achieving significant cost savings or efficiency gains.
- Expertise in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Deep understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols (e.g., HAZOP) and environmental regulations in the chemical industry.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information effectively.
