Our client, a premier hospitality establishment in Naivasha, Nakuru, KE , is seeking to hire a highly creative and experienced Executive Chef to lead their Banqueting and Events division. This is a hands-on role requiring a passion for culinary excellence and a proven ability to manage a high-volume, demanding kitchen environment. The Executive Chef will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and executing exceptional menus for a diverse range of events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale banquets. - Developing innovative and appealing menus for banquets, conferences, weddings, and other special events, catering to diverse dietary requirements and preferences.
- Overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and service for events.
- Managing and leading the culinary team, providing training, motivation, and performance feedback.
- Ensuring consistent quality and presentation of all dishes served.
- Controlling food costs, inventory management, and procurement of high-quality ingredients.
- Maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with the events and sales teams to understand client needs and expectations, offering culinary expertise.
- Creating and costing new recipes and menu items.
- Managing kitchen staff schedules and ensuring adequate staffing levels for all events.
- Contributing to the overall profitability and success of the F&B department.
- Staying current with culinary trends, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Conducting regular kitchen inspections and implementing necessary improvements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A professional culinary degree or certification from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive culinary experience, with at least 3 years in a similar leadership role, preferably within banqueting or large-scale event catering.
- Demonstrated expertise in menu creation, food preparation, and presentation.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP).
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and maintain profitability.
- Creativity, passion for food, and a commitment to culinary excellence.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
