Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Energy Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of diverse energy-related projects. This role, based in Embu, Embu, KE , requires a strong understanding of the energy sector, project management principles, and stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful delivery from conception to closeout. This hybrid position allows for flexibility while maintaining essential in-person collaboration for key project phases and team interactions.

- Lead the planning and execution of energy projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, schedules, and risk management strategies.
- Manage project teams, including internal staff, contractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Facilitate effective communication among project team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets and track expenditures to ensure financial control.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Foster strong working relationships with all parties involved in the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Project Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 3 years focused on the energy sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing energy projects (e.g., power generation, distribution, renewable energy installations).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
- Familiarity with Kenyan energy sector regulations and standards is an advantage.
- Experience working in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and in-office responsibilities.
