- Evaluate and recommend the selection and application of precision agriculture technologies (e.g., GPS, sensors, drones, variable rate application).
- Monitor crop development and health, identifying potential issues and proposing timely interventions.
- Educate farmers and agricultural stakeholders on best practices in sustainable and precision farming.
- Maintain accurate records of farm operations, inputs, and outcomes.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in agronomy and precision agriculture technology.
- Collaborate with research institutions and technology providers to pilot new solutions.
- Prepare reports and presentations on farm performance and recommended improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Crop Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in agronomy, with significant exposure to precision agriculture techniques and technologies.
- Proven expertise in data analysis, interpretation of sensor data, and GIS mapping.
- Familiarity with various precision agriculture software platforms (e.g., Farm Management Software, data visualization tools).
- Strong knowledge of plant physiology, soil science, crop nutrition, and pest/disease management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and advisory skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage a remote client base effectively.
- Experience with drone technology and remote sensing applications in agriculture is highly desirable.
