Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Site Supervisor to oversee construction projects in the vibrant area of Nakuru, Nakuru, KE . This role is pivotal in ensuring that all construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction methodologies, site management, and team leadership. You will be responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating with contractors and sub-contractors, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all on-site construction activities and ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Developing and implementing detailed work schedules, coordinating labor, materials, and equipment effectively.
- Conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, quality issues, and ensure that work is proceeding according to plan.
- Managing relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management, detailing site activities, challenges, and resolutions.
- Ensuring that all safety protocols are strictly followed, conducting safety inductions, and maintaining safety records.
- Controlling project costs by monitoring material usage, labor hours, and equipment rental.
- Resolving any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and professionally.
- Maintaining accurate site records, including daily logs, incident reports, and material delivery confirmations.
- Ensuring the site is kept clean, organized, and secure at all times.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in construction site supervision.
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Proficiency in project management software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience working in Nakuru or surrounding areas is a plus.
