We're seeking a passionate Assistant Accountant to join our finance team and support our mission to empower communities with sustainable resources.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Accountant located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Assistant Accountant will manage financial transactions, support project budgets, and ensure compliance for our solar and water projects. This entry-level role offers growth in a dynamic renewable energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Operations: Process invoices, payments, and expense reports for solar and borehole projects; reconcile accounts and bank statements.
- Project Support: Track project costs (e.g., solar panels, drilling equipment), prepare financial reports, and monitor budgets for solar and water initiatives.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain records for audits, grants, and Kenyan tax compliance; assist with payroll and financial summaries.
- Team Collaboration: Work with project teams to optimize resource allocation and provide financial insights for cost efficiency.
- Data Management: Enter transactions into accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks,Zoho) and maintain organized project records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; ACCA/CPA (Kenya) certification is a plus.
- 1–2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience; renewable energy or construction sector knowledge preferred.
- Proficient in accounting software and Excel; strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Kenyan tax laws and renewable energy incentives is a bonus.
- Passion for sustainability and clean energy solutions.
