Role Overview
As a
Virtual Intern – Climate & Conservation Program Development
, you will support Upani in shaping and advancing new projects that focus on environmental conservation, climate resilience, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on conservation strategies, climate action frameworks, and sustainability best practices.
Support the design of new environmental and community programs, including drafting proposals and concept notes.
Assist in creating presentations, reports, and awareness materials.
Collaborate with the Upani team through virtual meetings and digital tools.
Contribute ideas for community engagement campaigns around conservation and sustainability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or current enrollment) in Environmental Studies, Climate Science, Sustainability, Development Studies, or related fields.
0–2 years of relevant experience (students and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply).
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
Plus: Experience with data visualization, GIS, or digital media tools is an advantage.

Compensation: Contractors work a part-time or full-time schedule and are compensated with a small stipend as well as on time basis. The probation period is 6 months. Please do not apply if you will be working on any other job at the same time. Candidates must be ready to commit to at least a 3 months work period and there is a possibility for exrension of employment on good performance.
Job Description
The Tayari Group is a family owned group of companies with headquarters in Kenya. We are a rapidly growing global market leader in the service, investment, hospitality, training and coaching industry. It currently consists of 4 companies and employs 9 full time employees.
We are looking for a talented Video Editor to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director's vision and is suitable for broadcasting.
As a film and video editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story
Responsibilities
- Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
- Take a brief to grasp the production team's needs and specifications
- Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes' value and contribution to continuity
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
- Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
- Create rough and final cuts
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
- Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry's best practices to maximize efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a video editor
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut)
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
- Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
- Creative mind and storytelling skills
- BS degree in film studies, cinematography or related field
