The Volunteer Services Coordinator helps drive forward VE's mission to produce world class events that inspire, empower, and celebrate every participant. VE produces world class events with a hometown feel and this role ensures that each event provides an unparalleled participant and volunteer experience.
The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, managing, and developing relationships with volunteers for the Ventures Endurance portfolio, which includes38+events comprised of marathons, obstacle course races, themed runs and more. This will involve working closely with all key departments within the organization, including event operations and marketing. Competitive applicants will have extensive experience working live athletic events and managing large groups of personnel.
This role reports directly to the Associate Manager, Volunteer & Charity. Travel will be required, upwards of 16 weekends (events) and preference is given to those who can adapt and work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage all volunteer recruitment for assigned events, from the time the event is established through event close out, acting as the point of contact for volunteer communications. Handles upwards of 20 events annually
- Act as liaison between departments to identify volunteer needs for events, including expos, packet pick-ups, and race day activities. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the efficient use of volunteers at events.
- Create, maintain, develop and adapt outreach databases and strategies to solicit volunteers from the community. Manage and maintain all volunteer records.
- Provide operations teams with regular updates on volunteer recruitment progress, and proactively solve any volunteer recruitment challenges.
- Handle volunteer inquiries, confirmations and reminders via telephone and email. Answer questions and communicate volunteer registration deadlines, assignment details, and logistical information.
- Manage the volunteer check-in/out process, onsite training, and deployment of volunteers and supplies at assigned events. Work efficiently and nimbly to ensure all areas ofeventare fully supported.
- Provide world-class customer service and ensure an enjoyable onsite experience for all volunteers and partners.
- Coordinate and manage all volunteer donations during post event close out
- Develop, nurtureand grow relationships with volunteer individuals and groups.
- Work closely with event leaders to cultivate relationships with official charity partners and help support their mission and fundraising efforts, through both pre-event communications and on-site support.

- Distribution and handling of daily and non-daily products to carriers, haulers, retailers, and consumers.
- Unload and load trucks containing various print publications.

Requirements
GED or High School Diploma. Valid driver's license, satisfactory motor vehicle record, dependable automobile, and liability insurance required. Strong organizational and communication skills are needed for a fast-paced environment. Good computer skills including Microsoft Office. Must be able to push and pull carts loaded with newspapers weighing up to 500 pounds with assistance and repetitively lift newspaper bundles weighing up to 25 pounds.

- Perform general clean-up of papers, skids, and debris that accumulate during the workday.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Employees must have a high degree of safety awareness.
- Above-average problem-solving skills necessary to monitor and repair automatic inserting and collating equipment.
- Requires physical dexterity to lift and move material. Must be able to stand for long periods and must be able to lift or pile newspaper products that vary in weight from 10 to 50 pounds or more at one time.
- Must be able to change work assignments on short notice and be flexible in scheduling.
- The position requires working in production areas while forklifts, pallet jacks, inserting, and related equipment are in use.

Position Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician will identify, repair, maintain and perform routine preventative maintenance on the following as applicable and assure safe working conditions: electrical, electronics, pneumatics, plc's and HMI's used on our various Production Equipment, but not limited to Prepress Plate Lines, Printing Presses, Inserting Machines and Conveyor Systems.
Candidate must be a self-starter with basic computer skills, their own tools, and a desire to learn and grow. Equipment specific training will be provided.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Work as part of a team to achieve and maintain on-time production performance, including product quality and accuracy standards and operational safety including OSHA & EPA compliance.
Perform Following Functions
- Schedule and perform mechanical & electrical maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all designated equipment:
- Assist supervisors and contract service providers.
- Inspect all repairs and modification projects.
- Contribute to staff training and development.
- Maintain a clean safe work environment.
- Work as a team member in following up on ongoing projects and repairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
SAFETY
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist in leading safety compliance within the department including accident investigations and follow up.
- Complete required annual OSHA. safety training programs: Lockout/Tag-out, Hazardous Communications, Personal Protective Equipment, Hearing Conservation, Blood Borne Pathogens, Forklift, etc….
- Ensure all machine safety-guards are installed, functioning properly and in use.
- Immediately report any potential safety hazards, operational concerns, and all accidents/injuries and near misses to production management.
COMMUNICATIONS
- Provide timely & accurate information to management.
- Immediately report equipment or product issues to production management.
- Communicate scheduling needs to supervisors and/or production management.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Working knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical skills
- Minimum five years related experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
- English language fluency: Speaking, reading, and writing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven excellent time management skills working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
Physical Requirements
- Physical demands commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job: pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, stretching, and working in tight positions.
- Must have the physical ability and coordination to remove and replace parts from machinery. To be functional within position person should be able to lift at least 50lbs.
- Must have visual acuity at short distance to examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Work in conditions of: Heat, humidity, working in tight areas, noise (from production machinery) and working with various oils, solvents, and other related chemicals.
- Must have working knowledge of basic mechanical fundamentals.
- Must be flexible: Able to work overtime and Nights, Saturdays/Sundays when needed.

Operating on a seven-day workweek, we are seeking dependable candidates to work 16 to 29 hours per weekend. You must be able to work a shift starting at 2:00 pm or 6:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 6:00 pm on Sunday.

Responsibilities
- Feed preprints into the insert machine hopper neatly and accurately.
- Monitor the insert machine to reduce double inserts and/or skips so that all jackets have the correct inserts.
- Remove completed bundles, weighing 10 to 50 pounds, and stack neatly for the next step in packaging delivery.
- Perform general clean-up of papers, skids, and debris that accumulate during the workday.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Employees must have a high degree of safety awareness.
- Above-average problem-solving skills necessary to monitor and repair automatic inserting and collating equipment.
- Requires physical dexterity to lift and move material. Must be able to stand for long periods and must be able to lift or pile newspaper products that vary in weight from 10 to 50 pounds or more at one time.
- Must be able to change work assignments on short notice and be flexible in scheduling.
- The position requires working in production areas while forklifts, pallet jacks, inserting, and related equipment are in use.
- Sign-On Bonus paid in increments.
